Sommelier 

We are currently recruiting for a Sommelier for our client, we are looking for a Sommelier that is passionate, driven, up to date with their wine knowledge and looking to work with an excellent team. 

Role: 

  • Train and upskill the front-of-house team, running tastings and briefings to ensure wine knowledge is shared and standards remain high.
  • Manage wine stock, overseeing deliveries, cellar organisation, and rotation to ensure optimal freshness and minimal waste.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team on new dishes and pairings to elevate the overall menu experience.
  • Assist in pricing strategy, ensuring the wine list is commercially balanced, cost-effective, and in line with market positioning.
  • Monitor wine sales performance, identifying customer trends and making recommendations for improvement or refinement.
  • Support service operations as part of the wider team — helping to maintain a relaxed, welcoming, and knowledgeable environment.

 Requirements:

  • WSET Level 2 (minimum), with strong working knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and food pairing principles.
  • Previous experience as a sommelier or wine-led role within a restaurant, wine bar, or similar environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest engagement.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling stock systems and pricing tools.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff.
