Shop Manager – Retail store daytime €45k plus

We are currently looking for a Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring high standards of customer service, product quality, food safety, staff performance, and profitability. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient and welcoming retail environment. I ideal manager will be driven and sales focused to increase business levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the butcher shop.
• Ensure the shop is clean, well-stocked, and presented to a high standard.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering with suppliers.
• Minimise waste through effective stock rotation and inventory control.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and operating safely.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate shop staff.
• Prepare staff rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Promote a positive, professional, and team-focused working environment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Always deliver outstanding customer service.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and special orders professionally.
• Build customer loyalty through excellent product knowledge and service.
• Promote seasonal products and value-added sales opportunities.

Essential

• Previous management or supervisory experience in retail store
• Experience working in a butcher shop, food retail, supermarket fresh foods, or similar environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
• Numerate with experience managing cash and budgets.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and busy seasonal periods.

• HACCP knowledge.
• Experience with EPOS/till systems and stock management software.
• Experience in fresh meat retailing.
