We are recruiting for an experienced Sales & Marketing Manager on behalf of our client in the Wicklow area. This is an exciting opportunity for a digitally savvy sales and marketing professional with a strong background in the hospitality industry. As an independent hotel, they operate free from brand constraints—giving you the creative freedom and strategic influence to make a real impact. However, success in this role requires energy, initiative, and a proactive approach to building the hotel’s profile across all markets.
As Sales & Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the hotel’s commercial strategy, with a strong focus on driving revenue, increasing market share, and enhancing brand visibility. This multifaceted role covers sales, marketing, revenue management, events, and overall brand positioning.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations across these key functions, ensuring they work in synergy to meet and exceed business objectives. A core responsibility will be to optimise pricing, forecasting, and distribution strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
Through strategic leadership and hands-on involvement, you will play a central role in positioning the property as a leading destination in County Wicklow.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and monitor the annual sales & marketing strategy, business plan and budget aligned with the business and financial objectives by category.
- Participate in all decisions and activate the agreed strategy in conjunction with the General Manger and Revenue Manager.
- Ensure delivery of revenue growth objectives through own initiative and effective leadership of the sales, marketing, events and revenue teams.
- Represent the hotel at local, regional, national and international sales activities including sales trips, network events and presentations, workshops, tradeshows and on-site FAM trips and client visits.
- Review all sales & marketing and revenue activities regularly and determine results and actions.
- Identify new business opportunities across all market segments.
- Stay informed on market trends, and competitor activities and align strategies to meet the market conditions as required.
- Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting as required.
- Manage the relationship with key external partners including, PR agencies, representation agency, travel agent networks and digital marketing partners.
- Manage sales & marketing projects as required as per business requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Sales & Marketing role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven expertise in the luxury hospitality market, with a clear understanding of high-end sales and marketing practices.
- Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of both revenue management and sales & marketing strategy.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to direct, develop, and motivate a high-performing Sales & Marketing team.
- Proactive and flexible, with a willingness to travel for marketplace visits, client entertainment, and FAM (Familiarisation) trips.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to team engagement.
- A full, clean driving licence is required.
- Familiarity with Hotsoft PMS is a distinct advantage.
