Operations Manager – Westmeath – €45k plus

We are currently recruiting an operations manager for our client based in a busy 4* hotel in Westmeath.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high operational standards across all hotel departments including Lobby, Restaurant, Accommodation, and Maintenance.

  • Support management in achieving sales targets while controlling labour and supplier costs.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and enforce service and presentation standards.

  • Monitor KPIs, stock levels, labour costs, and collaborate with audit to minimise losses.

  • Liaise with HR on employee matters, ensuring follow-up and documentation.

  • Oversee service delivery, hygiene, and customer engagement to ensure consistent guest satisfaction.

  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.

  • Lead regular staff training and conduct departmental audits.

  • Approve staff rosters, ensuring efficiency and appropriate coverage.

  • Conduct routine inspections of rooms and departments, addressing issues proactively.

  • Respond to guest complaints professionally, implementing follow-up actions to resolve issues effectively.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate teams calmly and effectively.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of personal accountability.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

  • Strong communication skills, with fluent spoken and written English.

  • Previous experience in hotel operations, with a solid background in Rooms, Revenue, Food & Beverage, forecasting, and budgeting—ideally within an Irish property.

  • Thorough understanding of health & safety, guest service standards, and operational best practices.
