Job Description

Introduction
We are currently seeking an experienced Night Manager for our client, a busy 4-star hotel in Kildare. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and dependable hospitality professional to take full responsibility for hotel operations during the night shift. Reporting directly to senior management, the Night Manager will oversee all departments, ensure the safety and security of guests and staff, and maintain the highest standards of service throughout the night.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all hotel operations during the night, acting as the senior manager on duty.

  • Supervise and support front desk and night audit operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and guest records.

  • Manage guest arrivals, departures, late check-ins, and special requests with professionalism and warmth.

  • Conduct regular property walks to ensure security, safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained.

  • Handle and resolve guest complaints or incidents promptly, escalating where necessary.

  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B teams to address overnight operational needs.

  • Complete and verify night audit reports, reconciling daily transactions and preparing handovers for morning management.

  • Monitor staff performance, provide guidance, and ensure all night shift team members adhere to hotel policies and SOPs.

  • Take charge in any emergency situation, including fire alarms, evacuations, or first aid incidents.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Night Manager or Night Supervisor in a hotel environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Opera PMS (or similar property management system).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently, make confident decisions, and remain calm under pressure.

  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy in reporting, and a keen eye for detail.
