Salary: €32,000+ depending on experience

 

Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join a well-established 4-star hotel in Waterford. Reporting directly to the Deputy General Manager, the Duty Manager will work closely with department heads to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of all outlets. This is a key role for an ambitious hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to develop their career further within hotel management.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support Heads of Department across all outlets, assisting or covering supervisory shifts as required.
  • Oversee and coordinate hotel operations, ensuring the highest standards of service are consistently delivered.
  • The Duty Manager will manage daily food and beverage operations, ensuring smooth service and team efficiency.
  • Monitor the reservations system to maximise space and drive revenue opportunities.
  • The Duty Manager will lead daily morning briefings when on shift, ensuring clear communication across departments.
  • The Duty Manager will handle guest queries and complaints professionally, ensuring swift resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, training, development, and performance management.
  • Support the creation and enforcement of policies, departmental KPIs, and operational targets.
  • Assist with cost control across food, labour, and overheads.

 

Requirements

 

  • Previous supervisory or Duty Manager experience within a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Flexible to work a mix of mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Knowledge of reservations and property management systems is desirable.
