Banqueting Head Chef (Accommodation Available)

Salary: €60k

Location: Cavan

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality menus for banquets and events.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the banqueting kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of food quality, presentation, and service in line with company standards.
  • Collaborate with event planners and clients to tailor menus to dietary requirements, budgets, and themes.
  • Oversee food procurement, inventory control, and cost management to meet financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP regulations at all times.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering a positive and professional team culture.
  • Monitor portion control and waste reduction practices.

 

Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Banqueting Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-driven environment.
  • Formal culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional planning and time management, especially for simultaneous or large-scale events.
  • Creative menu development with a strong understanding of dietary needs and allergens.
  • Proficient in stock control, costings, and budgeting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 3 Food Safety required).
