Banqueting Head Chef (Accommodation Available)
Salary: €60k
Location: Cavan
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality menus for banquets and events.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the banqueting kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
- Ensure consistent delivery of food quality, presentation, and service in line with company standards.
- Collaborate with event planners and clients to tailor menus to dietary requirements, budgets, and themes.
- Oversee food procurement, inventory control, and cost management to meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP regulations at all times.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering a positive and professional team culture.
- Monitor portion control and waste reduction practices.
Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Banqueting Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-driven environment.
- Formal culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional planning and time management, especially for simultaneous or large-scale events.
- Creative menu development with a strong understanding of dietary needs and allergens.
- Proficient in stock control, costings, and budgeting.
- Up-to-date knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 3 Food Safety required).
