Job Description – Forecourt Store Manager

 

Reports to: Store Owner, Operations Manager 

Main Purpose of the Job:                     

Ensure the store operates efficiently and effectively and provides our customers with the very best customer service and fresh food offering at all times. To deliver on key store targets (sales and profitability) through effective management of people and operations.

 

Relevant Skills Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior management position (either as an Assistant Manager or Store Manager)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong knowledge and experience of reading and actioning reports
  • Previous experience with leading a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good delegation skills
  • Highly driven with a strong work ethic
  • An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets
  • Passion for grocery retail
  • Thrive in a fast-paced working environment

 

Main Duties:

  1. Always ensure that customer satisfaction is the number one priority by greeting each customer as if it’s their first visit to the store and consistently deliver an exceptional service.
  2. Organised, self-driven, excellent attention to detail and use own initiative.
  3. Approachable and a role model who leads by example and encourages teamwork, foster a positive attitude and atmosphere in the workplace.
  4. Develop the team to meet the company standards; by training, coaching & undertaking performance appraisals.
  5. Oversee and ensure the smooth running of the store by prioritising and delegating the workload appropriately.
  6. Foster good working relationships among the team and with local community.
  7. Hold regular management meetings and communicate relevant details and results to the team.
  8. Ensure all employees wear their full uniform, name badge and display a neat appearance at all times.
  9. Manage HR records & employee performance, giving regular feedback, recognition and encouragement.
  10. Deal with all customer queries and complaints politely, professionally and consistent with store policy.
  11. Ensure the correct cost price is against local suppliers.
  12. Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store.
  13. Ensuring all HACCP best practices are implemented across the store.
  14. Achieve Service Excellence in your mystery shop reports.
  15. Ensure the adequate timekeeping and attendance of employees.
  16. Set, monitor and achieve sales targets.
  17. Control stocktaking and overheads as per annual budget.
  18. Ensure merchandising and presentation of entire store is of the highest standard at all times.

Perform any other duties or assume any other responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time.  These may be outside of your normal area of work.
