Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its busy finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a respected hospitality brand, supporting day-to-day financial operations and contributing to the smooth running of the business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll play an important part in maintaining accurate records, improving efficiencies, and supporting key financial decisions across the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily finance tasks, including invoices, payments, reconciliations, and general ledger updates.

  • Support the preparation of monthly accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Maintain up-to-date supplier and customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.

  • Reconcile bank and intercompany accounts and assist in month-end close processes.

  • Process payroll, manage employee deductions, and coordinate with HR on pay-related queries.

  • Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.

  • Monitor expenditure and support initiatives to enhance cost control and efficiency.

  • Liaise with department managers and suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations across the property.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role (hospitality experience an advantage).

  • Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with accounting software (Sage, Hotsoft, or similar).

  • Strong numerical accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
