Sommelier

A prestigious luxury hotel is seeking an experienced Sommelier to join their team. The role requires deep expertise in cellar management and delivering exceptional wine experiences in a fine dining environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the culinary and service teams to enhance guest satisfaction through expert wine pairing and cellar oversight.

Responsibilities

• The Sommelier will manage and maintain an extensive wine cellar including inventory control, stock rotation, and storage conditions
• Curate and develop a refined wine list aligned with seasonal menus and culinary offerings
• Provide personalized wine service and recommendations to guests
• The Sommelier will collaborate with chefs and F&B teams to create harmonious food and wine pairings
• Train and mentor front-of-house staff in wine knowledge and service standards
• Oversee wine purchasing, supplier relationships, and budget management
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and cellar best practices
• Maintain accurate records of wine stock, orders, and cellar environment

Requirements

• Proven sommelier experience in luxury hotels or fine dining establishments
• Strong cellar management and inventory control skills
• Excellent knowledge of wines, including ability to educate guests and team members
• Relevant wine qualifications preferred (WSET Level 3 or Diploma)
• Outstanding customer service skills with a passion for hospitality excellence
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special events
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
