Golf Operations Manager

Role: The right candidate will plan, promote and direct all golf activities including daily management responsibilities.

  • Responsible for meeting financial targets set out in conjunction with Resort G.M & including membership target, golf society target, green fees and pro-shop sales. Advertising done in conjunction with hotel sales and marketing partners.
  • Prepare weekly reports on targets for golf operations, takes corrective actions as necessary to help assure that budget goals are attained.
  • Orders merchandise for golf shop and provides the best selection possible.
  • Fully competent on BRS & hotsoft front office system. Training provided.
  • Orders supplies associated with golf activities.
  • Maintains attractive, orderly appearance in pro shop.
  • Selects, supervises, trains and evaluates pro shop staff.
  • Provides or arranges golf lessons to members and guests when required.
  • Controls Stock & Stocktaking procedures.
  • Controls golf social media in association with Resort marketing and men’s club. Promoting golf club and working with men’s club on website ensuring it is member and resort friendly.
  • Plans professional development and training activities for subordinates.
  • Designs and conducts junior golf clinics and training programs.
  • Collects income for all golf-related activities.
  • Organises and conducts club tournaments and related events.
  • Interprets and enforces club policies, rules and regulations.
  • Consults with the Resort General Manager and Head Greenkeeper about golf course and practice range operations, maintenance and rules.
  • Cooperates with the Head Green Keeper about maintenance issues that affect the playability of the golf course.
  • In conjunction with Management and Members of the Golf Committee, implements and administers a system governing the start of play and the handicap system.
  • Represents the Resort in trade shows including local and national events with the approval of Management.
  • Attend any management, golf committee and other applicable meetings.
  • Maintains records and all data base relating to player and guest rounds and other statistics respecting GDPR.
  • In conjunction with Management, to plan social evening and events to promote golf and fellowship among members and guests.
  • Schedules staff hours and rosters to assure that members and visitors are fully served and that labour costs are maintained; periodically checks timecards to adherence to posted schedules.
  • Assists in the development of short – and long-range plans for improvements to the club facilities and courses.
  • Interacts with personnel in bar, catering and the hotel regarding food and beverage needs for events and the club house.
  • Maintains good communication between the golf shop, bar catering and hotel. Always pushing to promote food & beverage facility in clubhouse at the weekends.
  • Provides for the collection and issuance of all prizes associated with all competitions.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the General Manager.
