We are currently recruiting for a Head Chef position. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody looking for a next step in their career in a high-end restaurant. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong people management skills and have a high level of attention to detail.
Duties & Requirements:
- To lead and manage the kitchen team
- To liaise with the Head Chef with regard to menu suggestions, operational issues and the day to day operations of the Kitchen.
- To be responsible for all food service from the Kitchen including outside areas and the function rooms.
- To respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
- To be aware of all financial budgets and goals.
- To ensure that all recipes and product yields are accurately costed and reviewed regularly.
- Ensure that a consistent first-class product of the highest quality is achieved and maintained in all culinary areas, whilst adhering to operational deadlines.
- To ensure that all food products received into the Kitchen are of the required standard and quality and that they are stored and rotated correctly.
- To assist with the monthly stock takes in the Kitchen
- Ensure that all kitchen operations manuals are prepared and updated.
- Ensure that rosters are entered and updated in the Time and Attendance as required by the company and the payroll deadlines are met.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work as a team
- Qualification in culinary arts, or similar is desired
- Extensive knowledge of good food handling, food standards, and presentation
- Competence in all aspects of kitchen budgeting to include costing and menu planning, labour costingt, waste management and HACCP
