Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Ensures the timely and consistent delivery off exceptional service to each and every guest
  • Lead the department with responsibility for the success of each function
  • Ensure a pro-active approach is instilled within the department
  • Creating and implementing training plans in line with the needs of the team, business and profitability
  • Monitor all purchasing and costs within the department
  • Provide support where necessary in other departments
  • Maintain consistent communication with management team ensuring efficient running of department
  • Building relationships with external partners to support operations
  • Has a good understanding of financial management and can understand, interpret and action on profit and loss statements
  • Attend all BEO meetings and provide knowledge and feedback as required
  • Attend all Learning and Development opportunities
  • Ensure highest level of cleanliness are maintained at all times
  • Manage guest enquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Gather and implement all proper tools for running of C&B daily
  •  Understand and use Opera, Res Diary, and Alkimii payroll systems
  • Ensure team members adhere to uniform standards
  • Ensure all C&B events are billed correctly
  • Attend any Hotel meetings as requested
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Continuously seek to maintain and update knowledge and professionalism in own job function
  • Plan rosters in accordance with business levels and budget

Customer Loyalty

  • Empower employees to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ensure employees receive on-going training to provide them with the skills to execute their job roles
  • Review customer feedback information and communicate to team
  • Observe service behaviours of employees and provide feedback to individuals
  • Establish guideline so team members understand expectations and parameters
  • Engage with customers to enhance their experience and feedback to C&B and Management Team

Employee Loyalty

  • In conjunction with the Human Resource team, develop and retain the workforce to create a stable and consistent C&B team
  • Create, deliver and continually develops a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages engaged employees
  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognise the contributions of team members via employee of the month nominations
  • Conduct regular performance reviews
  • Conduct monthly team meetings

Generating Talent

  • Develop, implement and maintain a C&B training plan to support individual and collective development needs
  • Uses all available on the job training tools for team members
  • Implement and manage a system to review personal development plans from performance appraisals ensuring agreed actions are being taken
